Лесам Песня Ішла...

    Ніл Сямёнавіч Гілевіч

    Сосен зябкія плечы
    Цішыня спавіла.
    Мне насустрач здалечы
    Лесам песня ішла.

    Вечаровай часінай
    Зазвінела ў глушы
    Нерастрачанай сілай
    Чыстай юнай душы.

    I было зразумела:
    Тут не сорамна ёй
    Нечаканай, нясмелай
    Першай тайны сваёй.

    Тут баяцца не трэба,
    Што пачуюць цябе.
    Тут ёй кожнае дрэва
    Спагадае цяпер.

    Я стаю за ядлоўцам –
    Хай спакойна міне...
    I вянок на галоўцы,
    I каса на спіне.

    А ў руках – басаножкі:
    Назнарок іх зняла,
    Каб адчуць, як патрошкі
    Сцежка стыць пачала.

    Крочыць просекай-сценкай
    Як тунелем, адна.
    Маладой-маладзенькай
    Мне здалася яна.

    I – на подступах ночы –
    Добра бачна было,
    Што спяшацца не хоча
    Гэта песня ў сяло.

Song Walked in the Wood

    The pines' shoulders swayed, misted
    In smoke for a shroud,
    To meet me, from the distance,
    Song walked in the wood.

    Then, at the evening hour,
    In the silence it rang,
    With the unwasted power
    Of a soul, pure and young.

    It was understood clearly
    That no shame here could be
    For her shy, surprised, dearest
    First mystery.

    There is no need for fearing
    Someone hears or will tell.
    Every tree that stands near her
    Remembers her well.

    See, she is coming,
    See, she goes past,
    Her blue-white blouse gleaming,
    Two plaits down her back tossed.

    In her hands are her slippers,
    She has bared her feet,
    To feel, little by little,
    The path lose its heat.

    She strides on, through the ride like
    A tunnel, alone,
    A lovely young maiden
    She seemed, and passed on.

    But – and night was approaching –
    It was quite clear, indeed,
    To the village and homeward
    Song did not wish to speed!
